Hello world....It's Christmas Eve right now and I am sitting by myself enjoying a nice bowl of soup. Alone. My students call it "Solo Christmas." So I taught them to say "Solo Dolo Christmas" instead. Clearly, I teach them important things. Don't feel bad for me, though!Even though I'm bored now, my life has been pretty cool :)
Since my last (word) post, everything has gotten better. I've made some REALLY AWESOME friends here, friends and companions I will never forget. This includes my students. I'm still in denial that my sixth graders are leaving. THEY CAN'T LEAVE. Is it weird to love my kids this much? They are just such wonderful people, and I've been lucky enough to make real relationships with them even though we speak different languages. I'll never forget them. Ever. I decided that when I found myself up at 11pm photo-shopping their heads onto different stock photos from google (the unit was "What do you want to be?" and the stock photos were of their respective "dreams"). Basically it was the point when I realized I had officially lost my mind. But I regret nothing. Absolutely nothing.
Ok so some things that have happened recently....Well I semi joined the badminton club! I was invited to come take lessons with one of the teachers in the club, and so I started going every night! It's been legit. I'm originally part of the "tea drinking" club, but I really like that I've been adopted into the badminton club too :) Since we all play from 5:00-8:00 we also get dinner together at night <3 It's really given me the chance to get to know the teachers at my school better, and they are seriously the best ^^ Shout-out to any of them if they ever read this (which I assume they won't...)! Also their English is all fantastic, so that's another plus++++
So this is just going to be another rambly post because I really don't have a lot to talk about. At least not specific things. I'm currently done with classes now for the semester, and I am just finishing up some Christmas/New Years Cards I have been writing for my sixth graders. Also, I will be doing a three day winter camp next week, so that's awesome! I'm excited for two lessons in general, so I hope it goes well :) I am the single person in charge of the winter camp (teaching wise), so that'll be interesting....hehehehe, Rachel enters adulthood for real this time. Also, my coteacher replacement, Bora, will be leaving soon. IM SO SAD, SHE'S SO AMAZING. We are really close now, because we spend so much time with each other....I'm seriously hoping that she gets placed at our school next year. She makes me so much happier to be a teacher. Forrealz. Wherever she ends up though, I want to keep in touch <3
So yah...I'll be home in a week (which blows my mind), where did the semester go??? Seriously. I can't believe I'm about to leave the country for a month and go on a new adventure....But I'll really miss my family here in Korea. I hope they don't forget me that easily! Cause I sure as hell will remember them forever...
Now for some pictures, because pictures. Merry Christmas from Korea! And see you all soon <3 Like for realzies in the flesh. kbai.
